Testing

We highly recommend that your child take the ACT and/or SAT in the spring of their sophomore year, or in the fall of their junior year at the latest. We offer excellent ACT Workshops in the fall and spring semesters. The Workshops are conveniently scheduled to end within one week of a local ACT test date. This way your child can take the test with the material fresh on their mind. If you are interested in one or both of our beneficial ACT Workshops, apply online. If your child is already a current student, you can call our front office to easily add one or both workshops.

College Fairs

Chattanooga Christian College Fair: watch for announcements, in the fall and in the spring

Coast to Coast College Fair: watch for announcements, usually in the spring

Resume

Having your child start a resume their freshman year is another advantageous thing to do. In a format similar to a job resume, list various things in which they participate while in high school (9th-12th grade). This might include activities such as a job, volunteering, a mission trip, church choir, being involved in a club, or participating in an athletic program.

Reading List

Keep a comprehensive reading list of all books that are high school level that your student has read. Add to this list regardless of how young your student is at the time they read the book. If it is high school level or higher, put it on the list.

Overview & Timeline

The North American Coalition for Christian Admissions Professionals offers an excellent website that covers the basics of college planning and preparation. It covers most of the essentials and will also give you some concrete objectives for your Junior or Senior to start accomplishing.
