Kindergarten Immersive Experience

A full day of engagement, learning, social interaction, and fun!

Course: Elementary Immersive Program Kindergarten
Grade Level:
Kindergarten (At this time, we are unable to accommodate students with severe learning or social challenges)
Day/Time: Monday 9:05am - 2:35pm
Due to anticipated growth, we are planning on offering this course on Tuesday as well if the Monday sections fill up. If Tuesday would work better for your family, you will have the option of indicating that on the application. Tuesday would be an exact replica of Monday’s courses with the same teacher and material.
Instructor: Meghan Tholken (Kindergarten class 1) and Amy Tolson (Kindergarten class 2)
Cost: $195 per month + $95 application fee
Location: This class meets at Brainerd Hills Baptist Church. It is a two-minute drive from HHL’s main campus
Books: Order books through Rainbow Resource, Amazon, Christian Book Distributor, etc. Sometimes we recommend that you order from a specific company if the ISBN number does not take you to the correct book or if it is more expensive (as is often the case on Amazon). Also, sometimes copying and pasting the ISBN number does not take you to the correct item. You might have to type in the name of the book, especially on Rainbow Resource Center, since they have their own way of cataloging items. You can always buy used books, unless it is a consumable workbook.

Description: Drop your child off for a total immersive experience - a Kindergarten adventure! Your child will be taught and led by a loving, nurturing teacher who will give your child the wonderful experience of a Kindergarten classroom, all in one day! We will provide the baseline for a 4-day curriculum of core subjects: Math, Handwriting, History, Reading/Phonics, and Literature. The class will intentionally spend time outside exploring, discussing, learning, and MOVING! We think the younger elementary years should be spent in awe and wonder of the world around them, asking questions, learning through observation, and developing a foundation for a life-long love of learning. Students will journey through a solid language arts curriculum including reading and writing, math lessons for the week, and God's story through history, literature, and the Bible. They will also do fun activities like art, music, class parties, birthday celebrations, and more. Students will have multiple breaks, plenty of fresh air, and lunch (brought from home) on campus with their peers. Each week your child’s teacher will send home a guided plan for work to be done throughout the week. Parents can use our program as a comprehensive curriculum for your child’s grade level, or you can add on additional subjects at home.  Some additional courses you do at home might include: geography, music, foreign language, typing/computer skills, P.E., etc. You can spread out your week a little more to make it a 5-day program, or you can keep our schedule and use the day off  for field trips, appointments, rest, etc.  This class has a limited number of students (12).
