Description: Does your child enjoy a good bedtime story? Is your child captured by the plot of a quality movie? This writing class not only celebrates your child's appreciation of a "good story”, but it also helps students who struggle with writing and need excellent grammar work. Students learn to organize and produce creative literary pieces such as the following: poems, weekly journal responses, short stories, reports, a one-act play, historical fiction, and other writing assignments. We have also designed this course to improve sentence structure, grammar, and diction through writing assignments and the incorporation of some grammar basics. Grammar skills will be sharpened through weekly instruction and assignments using the grammar workbook. We grade students' weekly grammar workbook assignments on-site, the same day they turn in their work, so parents have immediate feedback on their child's progress.

Description: This class provides an encouraging environment for a student to develop the science and art of his or her writing! Students use their own interests (soccer, baking, skateboarding, baseball, horseback riding, fishing, ballet, fashion, etc.) as the topics of organized writing assignments. Creativity is developed and celebrated as students conquer four types of paragraphs, poetry assignments, research reports, a one-act play, short stories, a five-paragraph essay, weekly journal responses and more. Grammar skills will be sharpened through weekly instruction and assignments using portions of the workbook. We grade students' weekly grammar workbook assignments on-site, the same day they turn in their work, so parents have immediate feedback on their child's progress.
