For questions about classes or scheduling, please contact Hilger Higher Learning by email or at 423-987-4276. If you cannot reach the front office staff, feel free to contact our Director of Operations, Maddy Haar, by email or at 423-322-7138. 

If a class is not on our application, that class is full. If you would like to be put on a waiting list, please contact the front office staff.

If you read and affirm our philosophyparent partnership, and guidelines, you may fill out an application.

If the school year has already started, we do have a few classes students can jump into. Please contact the front office staff if you are interested.

We encourage applying in March, since classes fill up quickly. Application fees are due with your application. Within 3-4 weeks of receiving your application, we will send you an acceptance/denial letter or call you if we have any questions. Application fees will increase by $10 per class on June 1. If you apply after July 31, we will get in touch with within 24-48 hours of receiving your application. The acceptance letter (containing expectations, regulations, textbook information and a calendar of events) will only be issued once your application form has been processed and accepted.

We give priority placement to returning students, students taking multiple classes, students with sibling schedules that need to be coordinated, earliest and eldest applicants. Please understand that, if necessary, we may accept your student into a different section of a course for which you have applied.

Options for Payment

We have partnered with a financial platform to make it easy to pay your tuition bill. Our platform allows families to set up automated monthly payments by linking their bank with our billing software for an easy and secure ACH transfer from your bank. That being said, a couple local banks are not supported by the platform we use. If you find your bank does not work with our billing software, we recommend setting up bill pay through your bank so you have one less thing to think about each month and do not risk a late fee. Since monthly tuition does not change over the 10-month billing cycle, this is the simplest route. You can usually find this option on your bank’s website or mobile app. You’ll need the payee (Hilger Higher Learning, Inc.), our mailing address (412 East and West Road, Lookout Mountain, TN 37350), the amount you need to pay monthly, our phone number (423-987-4276) and the date you want it sent (must be received by the 25th of the month). If your bank requires an account number, you can simply use your child/children’s name(s).

Another option is to drop off payment during school hours (Monday thru Thursday 8am – 4pm) at our front office or secure lock box which is located in our entry hallway. Remember, we do not have any classes and no one is at our facility on Fridays. You can pay by check, money order or cash (we give receipts for all cash payments). An automatic receipt for all payments will be sent to your email once payment has been posted on your account.

Our scholarship fund encourages and supports families who are struggling financially. With the help of hundreds of families over the years and a designated scholarship fund, we have awarded thousands of dollars to families. If you would like to contribute to our scholarship fund, you may add an amount per month, semester or year. Even $5 helps! When you give, HHL matches your gift, as another way of saying thanks. Please note that 100% of all scholarship contributions and matching funds go directly to Hilger families.
