Description:  Our classes will travel through five books that captivate readers with dynamic plots and characters.  We will climb the Alps with a young boy named David, sit in a concentration camp with Corrie ten Boom, paddle down a jungle river with Jim Elliot, and much more.  Students will acquire the basic tools needed to distinguish between a Biblical worldview and a secular worldview as presented in literature.  Extensive reading, various writing assignments, vocabulary quizzes, and several projects will be assigned.  Each semester students will choose a biography to read and analyze, in addition to the required reading.  We also offer an Advanced Reading Program for students who want to tackle more than the books covered in class. We use a 3-year rotation of various books, which are never repeated, so students can enter as 6th graders and take this class until they are ready for High School Literature and Composition grades 9-10 (English I/II).
